Exporting the optimized route plan

Basic principles

Once the route optimization has terminated, the economies and time savings have been displayed, the results treated, and where necessary any manual alterations applied, you can export the optimized route plan in a variety of formats.

The following exports are available:

 To export routes, it is necessary to select at least one route.

Utilisation

Export to Excel, versions 2007 and later (.xlsx)

The Export to Excel 2007+ (.xlsx) function generates a file called simulation-results.xlsx which is then uploaded to the device used. The Excel file generated presents the routes in the form of a spreadsheet made up of one or several worksheets as chosen by the user:

  • One worksheet per resource: the routes for each resource are grouped in a single spreadsheet and a dedicated spreadsheet contains the unplanned visits;
  • One worksheet for all resources: all assigned routes are grouped within a single sheet and a dedicated spreadsheet contains all the unplanned visits.

Each route calculation sheet is accompanied by an image of the route map.

 In the case of certain selected countries, you can insert the map via an Excel export.

Export to Excel, versions 97-2003 (.xls)

The Export to Excel 97-2003 (.xls) option generates a simulation-results.xls file that is then downloaded on the device being used. The Excel file generated presents routes in a folder containing several spreadsheets:

  • One worksheet per resource: the routes for each resource are grouped in a single spreadsheet and a dedicated spreadsheet contains the unplanned visits;
  • One worksheet for all resources: all assigned routes are grouped within a single sheet and a dedicated spreadsheet contains all the unplanned visits.

Export as an email in iCalendar format (.ics)

The Send by mail option generates a simulation-results.ics file as attachment to an email sent to your email address. Once the file has been sent, a message confirms that the results have been sent. The iCal file generated contains the list of visits to be made. Selecting this file attachment allows you to fill an agenda in your application or dedicated internet site (Microsoft Outlook, Google Agenda, etc.).

Export to iCalendar (.ics) format

The Export to iCalendar (.ics) format function generates a simulation-results.ics file that is then downloaded on the device used. The iCal file generated contains the visits to be made. Opening this file allows you to fill the agenda in your application or dedicated internet site (Microsoft Outlook, Google Agenda, etc.).
